RDM DMX Merge 21
XTBA RDM DMX Merge 21
DMX/RDM has had a long and painful path to gain acceptance but is increasingly finding uses in both architectural and entertainment lighting. However up to now using a DMX merge on a RDM system (that actually works) has been impossible.
The XTBA RDM/DMX Merge 2:1 will merge two DMX/RDM inputs to an output with DMX offset if required. RDM requests and replies will pass through the merge at the same time as DMX level data, allowing both level setting and RDM functions to be carried out on two consoles at the same time. So one console can be focusing the rig and the other setting up the devices.
RDM ‘SET’ functions can be blocked on an input if required so one console can only view a fixture’s parameters (GET only) but the other can SET and GET a fixture. The merge itself (if required) is also RDM discoverable and set up from RDM.
The RDM 2:1 is also available in 1U 19” rack. Also available as a RDM Merge 2:2D case.
